At its most fundamental level, receiving is the process of confirming that what was ordered is what was received. Our put-away process gets items from dock to stock immediately. Bar code reading and scanning allows for high-volume throughput and reduced labor cost.
Inspection
We inspect the material to ensure it’s accurate and matches the delivery packing slip. When you consider that the average warehouse receives and counts thousands of items of varying shapes and sizes from hundreds of vendors whose picking, packing, and shipping practices are all different, it is not surprising that receiving can be one of the most fundamental functions and warehouse processes.
